RUGBY FOOTBALL.

MANAWATU UNION. A meeting of the management committee of the Manawalu Rugby Union wm held last evening, Mr A. M. Ongley presiding. A letter was received from the Fcilditig and Old Boys Club alleging that Kia Toa played a senior grade League player, P. Boston,. in a lower grade team recently. The Kia Toa Club’s representative undertook to look into the matter and the union resolved that in future more severe action should be taken against clubs whose members played in the wrong teams. A request from a Wellington team for a game with an Old Boys third or fourth grade team was referred to the Old Boys Club. An application by the Horowhcnua Primary Schools’ Rugby Union for a match with a Manawalu team, to be played at Levin, was referred to Mr V. ITobin and Brother Bernard. Messrs E. Clcvcly, Mitchell and O. S. Stcvorson were appointed managers of the Manawalu representative senior, junior and fourth grade teams, respectively, to play Wanganui teams on Saturday. Fixtures for Saturday arc: —Senior, Manawatu v. Wanganui, 3 p.m., Sportsground, Mr C. Pinfold; junior, Manawalu v. Wanganui, 1.30 p.m.,. at Wanganui; fourths, Manawatu v. Wanganui thirds, 1.30 p.m., Sportsground, Mr E. Jackson. At Wellington, Rongotai College first fifteen beat Horowhcnua College, 17 —6; second fifteens, Rongotai 8 v. Horowhcnua 0. 1
