Figures of farming interest, relating to the counties near Palmerston North, nro given in the latest issue of the Local Authorities Handbook. Tho RangTikei County, with an area considerably larger than tho others, has 1,333.704 sheep, 5695 horses, 134.999 cattle and 9075 pigs Kiwitea has 338,353 sheep, 1472 horses, 40,972 cattle and 2829 pigs; Pohangina, 169,497 shrep, 836 horses, 20 955 cattle and 2277 pigs; Oroua, 264.051 6heop, 1682 horses, 28.786 cattle and 5151 pigs; Manawatu, 192,155 sheep, 2166 horses, 52,585 cattle, and 12,887 pigs; Kairanga, 151,037 sheep, 1981 horses, 41,031 cattle and 9062 pigs; llorowhcnua, 159.180 sheep, 2289 liorses, 64,987 cattle and 14,608 pigs ; V> oodvillo, 114,849 sheep, 976 horses, 22,573 cattle and 3339 pigs. The figures arc on the latest returns of stock.
