SHALFOON—BAHOUT k A very pretty wedding of wide interest in Palmerston North was solemnised in St. Patrick's Church on Monday, June 30, when Anno Nabiha. daughter of Mrs 11. ■ X. Bailout and the late Mr K. Bailout., of 9 Waldegravc Street, Palmerston North was t joined in the bonds of holy matrimony to Joseph, son of Mr and Mrs C. Shalfoon, of Auckland. Very Rev. Monsignor MaeManus officiated, and celebrated Nuptial Mass. The bride, who was given away bv her elder brother. Mr Joseph Bailout, of Wellington, looked very charming in a beautiful frock of pearl toned satin riche, cut on classical lines, the bodice in front being finished with tiny satin buttons and loops from the heart-shaped neek-line to the waist. The skirt fell from a scalloped hiplino in lovely folds forming a long and ; beautiful train, 'flic pretty and attractive ' design of the sleeves was shown in the niching at the shoulders, and then fitting tightly to the wrist with liny satin buttons and loops. The embroidered veil was charmingly arranged and held in place with a wreath of orange blossom, and forming another graceful train. She carried a love ly sheaf of lilies, roses and frccsias finish j ed with maidenhair fern and tied with a bow of pearl-toned satin ribbon. Satin shoes were worn to tone, and adding to the charm of her attire she woro on a silver chain a mother-of-pearl cross mounted on silver, this being a treasured gift from childhood. Attending the bride were her sistei Angelinc (chief) and her niece Nina Courv, both wearing lovely picture frocks of azure blue taffeta with ruched bodices, the heart-shaped neck-line, puffed sledves and skirt being attractively trimmed with guipure lace. They wore blue velvet, shoes to tone and carried dainty muffs of blue net adorned with cyclamen posies and ribbon. On their heads they were very pretty caps of blue taffeta flowers with cyclamen centres. 'They also wore silver lockets and chains. The altar and sanctuary in the church were artistically adorned with white camellias. roses and greenery, the decorations having been in the capable hands of the bride’s sisters and friends. Tho pews for the guests wore tied in the nuptial colours of blue and white. 'file duties of best man were capably | carried out by Mr R. 0. Bahout,, of Mas- j terton, assisted by Mr J. George, ot Hastings, as groomsman. The usher at tho church was Mr (J. Gavin, of Raurnai. During the Mass, Miss Cora Bartlett gave a beautiful rendering of a number of specially chosen organ solos. Adding to tho solemnity and beauty of tho Nuptial Mass was a solo, Gounod’s “Avc Maria,” which was feelingly rendered by Mrs J-. Murphy, of Wellington. At, tho signing of the register, Miss Beryl Bartlett gave an irnpressivo violin solo, Mascagni’s “Avo Maria.” At tho reception, which took place at tho Ro-ro tearooms, Mrs R. IC. Bailout, the bride’s mother, received her guests attired in a black frock of French georgette, over which she wore a model black coat, with hat atid shoes to tone. She also wore a lovely shoulder spray of ryclainon and carnations. She was assisted by her daughter, Mrs B. Cotiry, who wore a smart frock of teal blue with a brown fillcoatee and hat and shoes to tone. She wore a shoulder spray of rose?, and frccsias. In attendance also was the bride’s aunt, Miss 11. Bahout, wearing a Mack velour coat and a smart, black hat. ller shoulder spray was of daphne and violets. Paying a special tribute to the bride, who is an ox-pupil of the Convent High School, there were in attendance in a body at. (lie church a large number of present pupils in thoir school uniforms. Tho newly married couple later left for the south by car. The bride wearing a hand-tailored costume of an Indian penny shade, with accessories to tone, and carried a fur stoic. Their future residence will he in Auckland.
