MANAWATC ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the management committee ol the Manawatu Hockey Association was held on Wednesday, Mr L. Martin presiding.- The Palmerston North City Council advised that the rent cf the grounds had been reduced to £ls. A |«oK\st was received from the Feilding club against tho playing of an unregistered player by the Broadway club. Mr W. Sutton stated that the player concerned registered on the morning of the game in which he participated. No act:on was taken. The Campbell Shield tournament i.« to bo played at Woodvillo on the Saturday loliowing tho playing of the championship final. It was resolved that Mr Johnston, of the Stratford Technical High School, be written to, suggesting cither August 30 or Septembei 6as tho date for a Winter Shield fixture. It was further resolved to ask tho Napier Association to suggest a date for a representative match at Napier. A known handicap competition lor the ladies will commence next Saturday. Mr L. M. Boyes was appointed handicappcr. Mr V. Turner was appointed selector for ladies' representative teams The fixtures for Saturday are: --Men's senior: United v. Phoenix, Ilokowhitu No. 1, 3 p.m. (Messrs Irwin and Palent>ki); University v. High School, at Massey College. 3 p.m. (Messrs Rendlo and Sutton) ; Feilding v. Woodvillc, at Woodvillo, 3 p.m. (Messrs Trass and _ Garlick): Broa'dvvav, a bye. Junior: Phoenix v. High School A, Ilokowhitu, No. 2, at 4 p.m. (Mo=sra H. and M. Byors); Broadway v. Feilding, at Ilokowhitu, No. 2, at 3 p.m. (Mcs.srs Chesterfield and Boycs): High School, a bye. Ladies: United v. Feilding, at Ilokowhitu No. 3, at 3 p.m. (Messrs Turner and Origg): High School Old Girls v. Broadway, at Ilokowhitu No. 3 at 1.40 p.m. (Messrs Turnor and Grigg).
