DAIRY COMPANIES.

At a meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairv Companies' Association yesterday Mr S. A. Broadbelt was in the chair. Also present were Messrs J. Bovco. J. K. Whyte, C. 0. C. Dermer, J. Devine, 11. Craig, and P. Hansen.

Hon. J. G. Barclay (Minister of Agriculture) wrote in reply to a letter from the association urging that si change be made from the present method of selling fertilifors. stating that it had been realised for some time past that the selling arrangement at present in vogue was not altogether satisfactory. The position was being investigated, however, and it was trusted that it might ho possible to adopt a more acceptable scheme. In the meantime, a note had been made of the association's suggestion that a straight-out price would be preferable. —Members commented that nothing further could he done at present, and the letter was received.
