RUGBY FOOTBALL
The encounter between Kia Toa and the combined Feilding teams, which is the main attraction at the Sportsground in to-mor-row's Rugby football mutches, should provo an interesting contest as both teams like throwing tho ball about and some very entci prising back line movements should be witnessed. At Rugby Park, United will play St. Patrick's at 3 p.m. The early game at the Sportsground will be between University and Old Boys. lIOROWHENUA UNION. Mr A. Gillespie presided at a meeting of the management committee of the Horowhenua Union, when arrangements were confirmed for the Bebbington Shield challenge match to be playod against the Bush Union at Pahiatua on the 26th inst. Mr J. Dunlop was appointed manager of the Ilorowhenua team. .It was reported that arrangements v&pre complete for tho Ilorowhenua - Manawatu representative game at Palmerston North in August. Subject to the consent, of the Air Station authorities, a further trial game will . be played next week-end between Horowhenua and Air Force. A fine of 5s was imposed on each of the following teams for defaulting in respect cf their scheduled fixtures of Saturday last: Shannon senior? and thuds. Athletic thirds, and Wanderers seniors. .
