EXTRACTS FROAf "STANDARD" JUBY 18, 1911.
A Brussels messago .stated that Alleslaegers had flown a monoplane 375 miles in seven hours, which was a world's record for a non-stop single flight. Serious rioting had occurred in Amsterdam. The police had been attacked, several shots had been iircd, and a number of persons injured.
A metallic circuit to cut out. "cross talking'' was being installed in the Palmerston North telephone ox-change. This new circuit would give privacy to those using the telephone. The Wellington Steeplechase of £SOO, 3| miles, had been won by Hoanga, 9.8, with Paritutu 9.13, second and Pleiades 9.10 third.
