WELCOME TO NURSES.

RUGBY, July 15. “Thank God you are sale, and thanks for the generous impulses which have brought you all over here,’' Mr Churchill declared when, at No. 10 Downing Street, he received 15 American Red Cross nurses, among whom wore 11 survivors of the torpedoed ship Maasdam. Mr Churchill was accompanied by the American Ambassador, Mr Winant. The party was headed by Dr John E. Gordon, director of the Harvard Red Cross field unit. An American hospital will shortly be completed in the south-west of England.—Official Wireless.
