FARMERS' PRESIDENT.

MR MULHOLLAND RE-ELECTED. (Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, July 16 For the sixth successive time, Mr W. W. Mulholland was to-day elected president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. The following other officers were also elected unopposed : Vice presidents, Messrs A. Briscoe Moore (Whangarei) and K. J. Hoiyoakc (Alotueka) ; vice-president overseas, Lieut.-Colonel F. Waite; treasurer, Mr W. Horrobin (Waikanae) ; executive member. Mr W. J. Poison.

I A request that the Government immediately announce the procedure for j the marketing of stock in the ensuing season and indicate the prices to be paid for the various classes of moat was framed by the conference after receiving a report on the meat position from a special committee appointed to deal with it. The report covered the situation as it affected efficient farm production and urged that interference? with the normal routine would he disastrous and must not be allowed to occur. Tho policy of the Government should he to ship all those classes of meat required, by the British Government which would provide the most food value for the space available.
