ALMOST DOUBLED.
BRITISH COST OF LIVING. The cost of living in Great Britain has increased since 1014 by !)7 per cent., according lo a statement in the National Union oi Manufacturers' Journal, a copy of which has been received in New Zealand. A table in the journal slk-ws that in January, Ji)2s, the cost of living had increased by fO per cent, on the 1914 figures, and by 77 per cent, according to the 1925 Decomber figures. The incrca.se fell to 41 per cent, during certain months of 1932-35. By December, 1940, the increase rose to 95 per cent., and by February and March this year to 97 per cent.
