GREAT LEVANTE, TO-NIGHT.

Rabbits, ducks, canaries and shapely girls appear and disappear with bewildering rapidity when the great Levantc rakes the stage at the Opera House, Palmcrston North, to-night, for his mvstifving entertainment "How's Tricks?" 'illusion follows illusion with such quickness that the audience arc never given an opportunity of dissecting what they have seen. Prcbabiv the most baffling illusion is his taking the place of his daughter inside a locked and bound steel trunk. At othe.r times Levantc makes rabbits, canaries and shapely girls disappear and reappear with an case that must be maddening to those in the audience who are wanting to know how it is all done. Supporting Levantc is a full-sized revue company of 32 artists. An added attraction is the acceptance of the challenge by the Great Levantc of the employees of the packing department of one of the large department stores who have made a packing case from which they think it will be impossible for the magician to make his escape after they have securely fastened him in it. Levantc promises to be free within the prescribed time of fifteen minutes: he also promises not to damage the case in any way. The case is on view in the vestibule of the Opera House.
