FOXTON
(,'r. F. Robinson stated at the recent special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council that as the result of the closing down of Berry's mill twelve men were now without, employment and he thought the council should take some action to find work for these men by approaching the Government. The Mayor (Mr M, E. I'orreau) stated that it was impossible for the council to employ the men. Cr. Podmore, who is president of the Flax and Textile Workers' Union, staled that his union had already taken the matter up.
Members of the Koxton Home Guard engaged in rifle exercises at the beach recently, when a whole day was spent on the. sand-hills.
