Mrs \V. K. Field presided over a meeting of tlie women’s section of the National Party, wlien sympatliy was expressed with Mesdames J. T. Hos~ worth and It. 11. Spencer, who-c sons have been reported missing. Mrs W. linden Jones (convener) and Mrs 11. Gilloft (secretary) reported for the war work section that ] (H> garments have been forwarded to the L'nited Guild and 76 knitted comforts to Trentham camp. Miss .Murray dohated the prizes tor tlie first bridge afternoon which had been a pronounced success, and Mrs Bale and .Miss Monckton donated prizes for next month. Mrs C. Hayward reported an increase in club attendance and thanked all helpers. It was agreed to affiliate with the W.W'.S.A. and to forward a list of members. An interesting report of conference proceedings in Wellington was presented by Mrs Field, who was a delegate.
