The Patriotic shop clay conducted yesterday hy members ol the Colyton Women’s Institute resulted in a profit of over £lO. /one K District is asked to find a lota, of 600 parcels towards the lot going Unward from thr- Wellingtot. provincial district at the end of the current month. Parcels from the different committees are now coming forward and the following contributions are gratefully acknowledged : Makino Women's institute 14. The local Ladies’ Patriotic Committee i« now in a position to receive donations towards the Feilding quota and these may take t.he form ol cash, which may be 101 l with the treasurer (Mr C. 11. 1 ate), a complete parcel, or any component part. Ihe contents of the parcel are: One tin of coiree and milk, condensed milk oi cream , 1 cake of chocolate in sealed tin; ono tin of one of the following: Fruit, oysters, whiiebu.it, honey, soup, lamb and green peas, tomato juice; one cake or .small cakes in scaled tin, 1 pair black bootlaces. 1 packet safety razor blades, 1 khaki handkerchief, writing pad and envelopes or pack of playing cards, a card, bearing the name and address of the donor oiy society responsible for the parcel. Donations of biscuits or shortbread will be especially acceptable. These should to small or rolled thin for convenient packing in small tins.

Private Colin Grindrod was made a presentation by members ol the Municipal Band on Thursday evening, Mr T. Collins (president) and Mr J. Fleetwood (eonduotor) expressing their good wishes on behalf of members. Mr Grindrod lias been in the band for a number of years. .Members of the bedding Methodist Ping Pong Club met at the home id' Mr and Mrs G. Greathead to farewell Private Owen Greathead, a member of the club. 1 >ev. \V. T. Blight wished Mr Greathead the best of luck and a sale return. Mr B.
