WAR SERVICE AUXILIARY
When the district committee of the Women's War Service Auxiliary met 1 recently, Miss C. VVarburton presid-l ing, the chairman reported that at the request of the Home Guard mem-, hers of the clerical section had been on duty on several occasions under the control of Miss Nora Grant and had done good service. The canteens at five Territorial camps had been sor-, viced by the canteen section, all mern’-J hers of the committee assisting. Those in charge expressed appreciation of the response and a letter of appreciation was received irom .Mr G. A- Eliott (chairman of the Y.M.C.A. Board,].' Members had also given practical help to sufferers from the flood. The chairman reported that the Palmerston North Botary Club had donated a drum and four fifes for the auxiliary and the secretary was authorised to write expressing the committee's thanks. Owing to greatly increased membership it will be necessary to divide the military drill class in the near future and to make use of two halls on drill nights, due notice of I which is to l>e given. j
