ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. The annual Rotorua women's gol: tournament opened oil the Arikikapakapa links on Tuesday. The Alanawatu Club had three representatives in lUisscs N. Smillie, Al. Illston, and K. Garner. Aliss Illston, last year’s winner, was eliminatcu n. tne second round of the championship and Smillie fared even worse than her elubmate, being beaten in the opening round. The final between Airs R. C. Cook (Wanganui) and Aliss K. O’Sullivan '(Hawera) was a game of recovery shots. Neither displayed the form that had marked their earlier play. Aliss O’Sullivan took the 17th when Mrs Cook was dormy and through missing a foot putt on the home green failed to take the match to the 19th. Three holes-in-one were registered at the tournament by Mesdames K. Al. Pike (North Shore, Auckland), J. 11. Alorris (Rcmuera), and Ormsby (Rotorua). In the qualifying rounds Aliss At. Ivellick (Wanganui) headed the list with 77—81—158. Aliss illlston had 81—79—163 and Aliss Smillie 90—82 172.
In the No. 1 flight final Aliss Garner heat Airs AA\ P. Endean (Remucra). 3 and 2.
