CONTROVERSY OVER BOOK.
REPLY TO MR BARNARD. Per Press Association. OAMARU, March 23. In reply to Mr W, E. Barnard, Mr Frank Milner made the , following statement to the Press to-day, concerning the controversy over passages of the book "Contemporary New Zealand."
"In his lengthy reference to my Oamaru address, which .he has already assured us requires no notice at all, Mr Barnard, while absolving the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs from all responsibility for opinions expressed in 'Contemporary New Zealand,' fails to instance who is responsible. Is not this deficiency supplied on Page V of the book itself, as follows: 'Responsibility for tho book as a whole and all the opinions expressed in it rests entirely with the editorial committee'."
