MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

MISCELLANEOUS CASES. A sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held to-day, Mr H. I'. Lawry, S.M., presiding. Richard David Alderslcy pleaded guilty to being in charge of a car in Main Street on Saturday while in a state of intoxication. Senior-Sergeant Mclntyre-said it was not a bad case. A fine of £lO was imposed ; defendant's driving license was cancelled and he was forbidden to obtain another for 12 months. The costs were £2 12s.

Thomas Alfred Hackitt Smith, labourer, aged 29, xrni charged that, at Morrinsville, with intent to defraud, he obtained £25 from Emsley Wallace by representing that he had a contract to cut wood. Air H. It. Cooper, who appeared for accused, asked that a remand be granted until to-morrow and this was granted. A fine of £4, with 10s costs, was imposed on J. I\ Cammock for not giving way to traffic on the right at an intersection.

A. N. Liddcll (Mr M. H. Oram) was charged on three counts, that being a vendor" of oil fuel, he failed to deliver to the Oil Fuel Controller schedules showing all entries required. The charges were dismissed on the grounds that defendant was not the vendor as lie was then employed by a registered company, and also on .the grounds that the schedules Avei;e delivered on the due dates. Lengthy evidence was heard as to the quantities of petrol in pumps under defendant's control.
