ST. DAVID'S GUILD.

In St. David's Church the opening meeting of the year of the ladies' guild was held this week. Mrs A. Stewart presided and welcomed a large attendance of members and friends and reminded them of the forthcoming flower show. Reference was made to the splendid work St. David's branch of the refugee sewing guild was doing; 650 garments have been sent out to date and many garments were on view, showing what was being done. Mrs Ladymait gave an interesting report on the parcels sent to the nurses and men who passed through St. David's Church and Sunday school and have gone overseas, and read letters of thanks from the recipients. The programme comprised songs by Mesdames Walker and A. Newlands (accompanied by Mrs D. Williams), a play by members of the League of Mothers, and a competition which was won by Janet Holmes. Rev. R. Warnock briefly addressed the members.
