GRAF SPEE INTRIGUE. ARMS IN COFFINS. (United Press Association —Copyright.) (12.4.3 p.m.) CAR.KI OWN, Nov._ 17. Coffins which were supposed to contain the bodies of the men killed in action in the Gra.f Spec were found to be filled with guns and ammunition carefully wrapped in waterproof cloth. The coffins were landed from the Graf Spec at Montevideo and with solemn ceremony buried in a common grave. The deception was discovered when the body of a German sailor who was supposed to Lave been ’buried was washed ashore. These details of German intrigue were disclosed by a Capetown resident who lias returned to South Africa to enlist alter nine years in South' America. The discovery enabled a plot to overthrow the Government of Uruqua.v to be foiled. Many Nazis who filtered into the country, occupying farms on strategic hilltops, were arrested and interned.
