BEAU VITE’S DISPLAY.
MELBOURNE CUP FAVOURITE. SYDNEY, Oct. 8. Commenting on the Metropolitan, the Daily Telegraph says Beau Vite’s win was the most spectacular highweight performance since Laddie Blue scored with 10.7 in 1021. Making light of hie welterweight, Beau Vite dashed away at the start as though he was in a sprint race and won in a run-away fashion.
The Herald says tho New Zealandbred horses secured a notable triumph in winning the Epsom-Metropolitan double. Following Beau Vite’s win, his owner (Mr 11. Stewart) refused an offer of« 10,000 guineas for the horse. Beau Vite is now the clear-cut favourite for the Melbourne Cup. Acceptances for the Craven Plate, to be run at Randwick to-morrow, are: Bourbon, St Constant. Mildura 9.4, Reading, Dashing Cavalier, High Caste, Beau Vite 9.0.
