SUPREME COURT.
PALMERSTON NORTH SESSIONS
The quarterly sitting of the Supreme Court in Palmerston North will commence next Monday, when His Honour Mr Justice Johnston will preside, There are four criminal cases set down for trial, and three offenders will appear for sentence. Civil actions- to be hoard before the Judge and a jury number seven, comprising three claims for damages for death resulting from injuries received in motor accidents, two for injuries suffered in motor accidents, and two for injuries suffered in the course of employment. Seven civil actions are set down for hearing by the Judge alone. There are two defended divorce cases and six undefended. There arc also two originating summonses. Two compensation cases will also he heard by His Honour, no date yet having been fixed.- One of these is a claim for compensation for lands taken under the Public "Works Act and the other a claim for compensation for lands taken and alleged injuriously affected. Tt is expected that the sitting will last about three weeks.
