OUTBREAK OF FIRE.
Late last evening a fire occurred on the property of Mr F. Chappell, the Hill, Feilding, and though the brigade was unable to use tho engine as the property is outside the borough. a bucket brigade did good work and prevented the outbreak from spreading. Mr Chappell is a poultryroan and his chicken-houses were destroyed. It was stated that there were 900 day-old chicks in the buildings and these were lost. The cause of the fire could not bo. ascertained this morning. The flames damaged many trees close by.
