WANGANUI TITLE.
Boating D. C. Collins (Wairarapa), 5 up and 5 to play, T. Casey (Wanganui) won the Wanganui amateur golf title for the second year in succession on the Belmont links on Saturday. Ideal weather prevailed. and a large gallery, followed tho finalists. Play was of a very good standard for the first nine holes of the final, and
the pair turned for home all square. From this out Casey went into a lead and stayed there. In the semi-finals in the morning, Casey bca£_ E. G. Tallis, 5 and 3. and Collins eliminated F. C. Hutchison 3 and 1. !
GLADING INFORM. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Oct. 7. ■ The Hamilton amateur golfer, It. H. Glading, had a remarkable round of 65 in a bogey competition at Hamilton on Saturday, this being a record for the course. Glading held the previous record of 69. In a splendid sequence of scores _ Glading returned nine .birdies and nine bogeys, thus finishing nine strokes under the scratch score of the course.
