EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD.” OCTOBER 8, 1910.
A public meeting had endorsed local proposals for the building of swimming baths for £2OOO the provision of a library building for £SOOO, anti the formation of a Palmerston North River Board. Electro-plating was being used at Auckland to make sixpences exceedingly like half-sovereigns, and pennies like florins. Persons prominent in the Portuguese revolution included Brega (the new president), Machado, Costa, Gomez and Almeida.
