LAWN TENNIS
ST. PAUL’S CLUB. St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Tennis Club officially opened its season on Saturday in fine weather. Friendly games were played on the three hard courts and there were some 40 players present, including visitors. Rev. A. L. Dixon (president) declared the season open and extended a welcome to the visitors, expressing his pleasure at seeing so many players present. He referred to the fact that the club had lost a number of members owing to the war, but notwithstanding this there were some new members, and the prospects of a successful season were satisfactory. The club captain this year is Mr Russell Darragh, who stated that the programme of activities in regard to competitions may be' affected somewhat by male members having to proceed to camp.
