MARTON.Oct. 4. The Marton Fire Brigade received a call to Signal Street on Thursday evening a chimney having caught fire. No damage rcsuited. " There was a large attendance at St. Francis’ Church on Thursday evening when the ceremony of Confirmation was conducted by Archbishop O’Shea, assisted by Rev. Father Linehan and Rev. Father Venning, of Otaki.' who was in charge of the Maori candidates. Seventy candidates were confirmed.
