(From Our Own Correspondent.) 1 MILSON, Oct. 4. The fourteenth anniversary of the Milson branch of the Salvation Army Sunday School, was celebrated on Tuesday with a banquet tea and concert. - About SW guests ..were- present. Bride of : place was ■riven the anniversary cake, which was decorated with 14 candles,'gold wish bones and autumn-tinted leaves, 'the concert was attended by parents, friends and visitors from the Palmerston North City - Corps. At the monthly meeting of the Womens Institute circle reports were given by Mrs Rabone (drama), Mrs Ronwick (sewing), Mrs Bigliam (glee club), Mrs Brookfield (gardening), and Mrs 'Penlceth (hospital visiting). Thanks were accorded Me.-.damCs Gore, Boynton. Garner and Koehler and flu; Featherston Street Bridge Club for donations to the soldiers’ parcel fund, ami .Mrs llubone for her splendid effort m raising funds for the patriotic work Mrs L/ymoek read some very interesting letters received from the Isle of Wight and lieiand. Bongs were rendered by the glee club. A very interesting debate on “Large versus Small Families” was a feature of the programme, thoso speaking on behalf of small families proving the winners. Wool for the knitting entries was .distributed, as was also wool lor mittens. Competitions resulted .-—Bloom, single, Mrs James 1. Mrs Honour 2, Mrs Dymoek 3; cluster,. Mrs Anderson 1, Mrs Albrecht 2, Mtt Faulding 3; decorated saucer, open, Mrs Anderson 1 and 2, Airs Brill 3; novice, Miss Rowan 1. Mrs licaly 2, Airs Johnson 3; jam jar of flowers in season. o|kui Mrs drill 1, Airs Dyniock 2, Airs Andcrson 3; novice, Mrs Johnson 1, Mrs Casey 2, Mrs Johnson 3; vegetables, Mrs Bartlett 1, Airs Prentice 2.
