ASIIIIURST SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their usual fortnightly sale held at Ashhurst: An average yarding of sheep was offered to good competition irom the local butchers, and prices were on a par with recent sales. A fair entry of cattle was yarded, and for the beef there was a sound demand for the good quality offered. A few pcr.s of yearling Jersey heifers were Keenly sought after and prices were very satisfactory to tho vendors. Several bulls were offered and there was a keen enquiry for bulls with good butterfat backing and in good condition. A complete clearance was made at bettor values than at the same sale last season. The following is the range of prices:—Fat shorn ewes, 18s 3d, ZOs 6d, 21s 3d; fat woolly ewes, 20s, 24s 6d, 25s lOd, 26s : fat lambs, 255; fat hoggets, 265, 35s 6cj, 375; fat bullocks, £tl ss; fat P.A. heifers, £8 ss; fat cows ex dairy, £5, £5 15s, £6 10s, £7 2s 6d; empty Hereford cows, £5 19s; store cows, £5, to £4; ylg Jersey heifers, £5 15s to £6 7s; ylg. Jersey bulls, £8 Bs, £9 9s, lOgns., liens., 12gns., to 12^gns.; 2-yr. Jersey heifers, ers, £8 to £9 10s; heifers, calved, £8 12s 6d.
