FOXTON.
In his annual report the president of the Foxton United Sports Association states that the operations of the past year showed a loss of £44. The year commenced with a credit balance of £9B and ended with a debit balance in the bank of £3l, but against this the association had the sum of £75 on fixed deposit and- cash in hand amounting to £lO, leaving the amount of £54 to the credit of the association.
At the annual meeting of the Foxton branch of the St. John Ambulance Association the election of officers for the ensuing year resulted:—Chairman, Mr W. E. Hale; secretary, Mr C. F. Anderson; committee, Mesdames Ilofmann, Tucker, J, Symon, F. Gay and Petersen, Messrs D. Brooks, F. 11. Murray, IT. A Hannay, G. Tucker, Jamea Macdonald, sonr., F. Gay, E. Joyce and Rev. G. B. Stotc-Blandy. The report mentioned that there’ were still 23 donors of blood for transfusion in the district and advantage was being taken of their assistance by the Palmerston North Hospital Board. The balance-sheet showod a small credit balance.
As a result of the splendid work of the Foxton Women’s Emergency Corps and the generosity with which the public responded to the appeal for clothing for the refugees, 19 eases of garments have been sent forward by the- corps and a further three cases are packeyl ready for dispatch. ;.:
