PAHIATUA.
Miss Beryl Mabey, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Mabey, of Hainua, gained the associate diploma for elocution in tho Trinity College examination conducted by Dr. C. Edgar Ford at St. Bride’s Convent, Masterton. Mr R. 11. Chaplin. R.N.Z.A.F., is visting Pahiatua on short leave from Harewood aerodrome, where he is undergoining training as a. pilot. Ho lis staying with Mr anr] Mrs R. C. Austin, Tyndall Street, with his wife. Mrs Chaplin will reside in Pahiatua during Mr Chaplin’s war-time service, i At a recent meeting of the Pahiatua • labour Representation Committee Mr B. J. Rossiter presided. Reports from the various branches were very satisfactory and showed that the movement was very much alive to happenings within the electorate. Matters in connection with the administration of the Social Security Act were discussed. Mrs T. C.
