Sir, —Can one of your scientific readers suggest or explain why the frequency of thunder and lightning in the Rangitikei and Alanawatu district has been reduced by 75 per cent, in the last half-century? I have searched the works of Sir Robert Ball and R. A. Proctor but can find no clue to the mystery.—l am, etc.,
