ARREST OF BRITON.
IRON GUARD OUTRAGE
ANTONESCU PERTURBED
(Rec. 12.50) BUCHAREST. Oct. 2. Four “Government men” dressed m civilian clothes arrested Mr Millar, of. the Astra-Romano Oil Company, at Snagov, near Bucharest, and drove him off in a car to an unknown destination. General Antoneseu is reported to be most perturbed by the Iron Guard outrages culminating in the kidnapping of Air Millar. General Antoneseu conferred with M. Horiasirna (Vice-Premier) who is stated tq have agreed to the purification of the Iron Guards. BUCHAREST, Oct, 1. The Premier (General Antoneseu) is reported to have reprimanded the Prefect of Plqesti for permitting the leg-' ionarics to arrest five British subjects, pointing out that they have no executive powere regarding arrested persons. The British Legation at Bucharest is’ reported to have received a written promise from General Antoneseu to investigate the case. The United States Legation has strongly protested against the arrest and maltreatment of an American oil official and has demanded full satisfaction. See “Britons Arrested.”—Page 7.
