CRICKET.

At the annual meeting of the Souther ti Hawke's Bay Cricket Association, Mr E. N. Ilogben presided. A letter was received from the Woodville Cricket Club, advising that it would be unable to raise a team for the coming season, and therefore had decided to go into recess until further notice. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr F. Armstrong; president, Mr M. D. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs G. M. Piper. C. Smyth. P. R. Kent, C. Raleigh, 11. Glass, L. W. Ward, J. C. Bolton, Colonel A. Wilder, and the president of the Central Hawke’s Bay Cricket Sub-Association; auditor, Mr T. 11. Pickard; secretary and treasurer. Mr R. G. Stewart; delegate to New Zealand Cricket Council, Ml- F. Woods (Christchurch); management committee. Messrs* L. G. Schmidt, E. N. Hogbcn. J. Ilfinnen. R. G. Stewart, F. Young and P. Brandon (to bo increased to eight members if considered necessary by the committee); selector, Mr R. L. Grant,. It was decided that the New Zealand Cricket. Council bo recommended to suspend the Hawke Cup competition' for! the coming season. The chairman in hi*' report mentioned.'that-'two representative games were played. The first, against Hawke’s Bay at Napier, resulted in a good first innings win by the Southern Hawke’s Bay side. The second, against Fcilding. at Bannevirke. for flic Goldfinch and Cousins Cup, resulted in a draw. The question of boundaries between the Wairarapa. Association and the Southern Hawke’s Bay had been completed with the , approval of the New Zea'and Council, and j the Pahiatua Suh-TTnion was now affiliated to the Southern Hawke’s Bnv Association.] The other ' sub-associations also affiliated tiro ■ Central Hawke's Bay and Puketoi. •
