At the annual meeting of the Souther ti Hawke's Bay Cricket Association, Mr E. N. Ilogben presided. A letter was received from the Woodville Cricket Club, advising that it would be unable to raise a team for the coming season, and therefore had decided to go into recess until further notice. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr F. Armstrong; president, Mr M. D. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs G. M. Piper. C. Smyth. P. R. Kent, C. Raleigh, 11. Glass, L. W. Ward, J. C. Bolton, Colonel A. Wilder, and the president of the Central Hawke’s Bay Cricket Sub-Association; auditor, Mr T. 11. Pickard; secretary and treasurer. Mr R. G. Stewart; delegate to New Zealand Cricket Council, Ml- F. Woods (Christchurch); management committee. Messrs* L. G. Schmidt, E. N. Hogbcn. J. Ilfinnen. R. G. Stewart, F. Young and P. Brandon (to bo increased to eight members if considered necessary by the committee); selector, Mr R. L. Grant,. It was decided that the New Zealand Cricket. The first, against Hawke’s Bay at Napier, resulted in a good first innings win by the Southern Hawke’s Bay side.
