JAPANESE TROOPS
LANDING IN INDO-CHINA. DISPUTE SETTLED. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Rec. 1.45 D.m.) LONDON, Sept. 26. It is officially announced bv both the French and Japanese authorities that the Indo-China border incident has been settled and fighting has ceased completely. Prior to landing almost 2000 troops, including a column of tanks, at Hanoi, the Japanese dropped four bombs on the native quarter, causing lo casualties. The troops marched through the streets of Haiphong en route to a specially prepared garrison. A Hong Kong message says the authorities have refused clearances to British ships for Indo-China and recalled those en route. TROOPS AT SINGAPORE. A cablegram from Singapore says the newspapers have been permitted to announce the arrival of Seaforth Highlanders and the East Surrey Regiment from Shanghai.
