MARKET REPORT.

Tho Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report that at their sale on Thursday a smaller entry of pigs and poultry came forward, which was probably due to the Wanganui races being held on tho local course. However, there was a keen demand, resulting in prices improving somewhat on last week’s rates. Best weaners realised to 30s each, good stores to £2 14s 6d, and porkers to £3 4s. Poultry maintained late rates, there being a particularly keen demand for young ducks, which realised up to 6s 6d each. Large supplies of vegetables came forward, prices declining in value on last_ week's rca.isations with tho exception of choice lettuce, which sold at 11s per case. We quote as follows: —Pigs: Best weaners, 28s to 30s each; medium, 25s to 275; small, 20s to 235; slips, 33s to 38s; choice stores, £2 10s to £2 14s 6d; small stores, 37s to 41s; porkers, heavy, £2 17s 6d, £3 3s to £3 4s;' medium, £2 10s. £2 14s 6d to £2 17s 6d; Berkshire boar, £3 10s. Poultry: Best W.L. hens, 3s 6tl to 4s 6d each; heavy liens, 4s io 4s 6d each; light hens, 2s 6d to 3s 3d each; young ducks, 5s to 6s each; old ducks, 3s to 3s 9d each; choice cockerels, 4s to 5s each; medium, 3s to 3s 9d each; turkey hens, to 8s; hens and chicks, to 9s. Produce: Cauliflower, 6s to 10s per bag; cabbages, Savoy, 4s to 7s por bag, drumbead 6s to 7s 6d per bag; spring cabbage, 2s to 4s per case; lettuce, choice, 8s to 11s 6d per case; leeks. 2s 6d to 3s 6d per case;, beetroot, 5s to 6s 3d per case: carrots. Is 6d to 3s per bag; parsnips, 2s to 2s 6d per bag; spinach, 5s to 6s 6d per case; pumpkins, 14s to 16s per bag; marrows. 4s to 5s 6d per bag; rhubgrb, 7s to 12s -per doz; onions, to 13s per bag; potatoes, 4s 6d to 6s per cwt.
