ACQUISITION BY CROWN.
ASSESSING THE VALUE
A special sitting of the Compensation Court of more than usual interest will commence next Tuesday at Palmerston North, when His Honour Mr Justice Smith will preside. The Court will be asked to fix the amount to be paid for a large block of land which has been taicen over by the Government from the estate of Mr F. S. Easton at Moutoa, this area having been in the hands of tho Government for some time. A large amount of work lias'been carried out on the area to prepare it for the planting of flax, the block being envisaged as providing tho supplies ot the textile factory at Eoxton. His Honour will arrive- in Palmerston North on Monday evening.
