MELODY DANCE CLUB.
The weekly Melody dance organised by Miss Winifred R. Hubbard and held in the Empire Hall on Saturday evening attracted . a.large gathering of enthusiastic, dancers, all spending a thoroughly sociable and enjoyable evening. Several novelty prize dances were included on the programme. A leading professional orchestra- of four players rendered a succession of rhythmic numbers which kept all the patrons merry and bright.- Mr Bonner (comedian), a visitor from Wellington, delighted everyone with two vocal solos; his items were greatly appreciated and loudly applauded. Mr S. Wright kindly assisted by rendering an extra. The duties of M.C. were effi.ciently carried out by Mr Howard York.'The next Melody Dance will be :held on Saturday evening (September 7) in the Empire Hall, when a good variety programme will be arranged to suit patrons, including extra modern dances if desired, also the usual extra novelty prize dances.
