HAZARDOUS PATROL
SUBMARINE’S ADVENTURES SHIPPING HARASSED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 26, 11.20 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 25. The submarine Sealion has returned from a patrol in the North Sea after a number of adventures. It reports that, when manoeuvring to attack a convoyed enemy mercliantman, the 9000-ton ship suddenly changed course aud came straight for the Sealion, which dived but heard a grinding crash as its periscope was struck. Depth charges followed, but failed to find their mark. The Sealion came to the surface at night and effected repairs, though it was possible for only two or three men to work at a time, while the swinging gear threatened, to sweep them into the heavy sc-a. The Sealion returned home without a periscope. Earlier on patrol tile Sealion sank an enemy supply ship. . '/kU* y — ... =
