HARRIER CLUB
WEBB SHIELD RACE. In the second race of a series of fourmile events for tho Webb Shield Saturday tho junior members of the Feilding Harrier Club wore in good form and a thrilling contest was fought out by 1,. Raynor, J. Duncan and G. Whittaker, who finished in that order and Whittaker secured fastest time. The shield competition, which is to be decided over Uiroc _ races, has created much interest and Whittaker is leading in points. Unfortunately for the. club, Rayncr, who has been a very sistent runner this season, is leaving Feilding early in September and will miss the championships, for which he has showed much promise. Detailed results arc: —L. Rayncr (2min 15sec), 26min 2sce, 1; J. Duncan (3min 45soc), 26inin 53scc, 2; G. Whittaker (scr), 24min 54sec, 3. In a training run the seniors also occupied tho track at the racecourse and in tho run-in over tho last half-mile Lambcrton beat Batten for first place, while Moss finished third. L. Barrett, 11. Moss, R. Lamberton and Batten will represent the club next week in the annual Bulls to Marton road race.
