Nine started, including Gladynev, who. having his first race in Australia, finished weakly in last place. Time, 1.42. MOOREFIELD HANDlCAP.—Aristocrat, 7.9 (Ward), 1: Old Serpent, 7.6 2: Magstnan 7.0 3. Nine started. Time 2.7. The Iliad colt Patrician, carrying 8.11, won the first division of the Maiden Handicap from Pierce and Indian Emperor, in 1.43. Results of tho Mooncc Valley races, at Melbourne, include: UNDERWOOD STAKES,—Ajax, 9.3 (Badger), 1; El Golea 9.3, 3; Aurie’s Star 9.0, 3. Also started : Keelie and Amiable. A length and three-quarters. Time, 1.374. AUGUST HANDICAP.—Rex Felt, 8.7 (Breasley) 1; Landlaw, 9.2. 2; Bathing Beauty 7.3, 3. Twelve started. Time. 2.4 ii. MUNRO TO RIDE BEAULIVRE. The jockey D. Munro has been engaged to ride Boaulivrc in the Epsom Handicap. Munro is at present riding at tho top of his form and has ridden eleven winners since the season opened at the beginning of August. McMena.rnin will ride Beau Vito.in his spring race*. Biform Rehandicapped. In the Egmont-Wangan.ui Hunt Cup Steeplechase, Biform has been re-handicapped from 10.1 io 10.10. Tutor Destroyed. Tutor, an aged brown gelding by Chief Ruler—Cracioea, who had to be destroyed at the Pakuranga Hunt meeting on Saturday, was owned and trained by Mr J. C. Edmonds, of Auckland. Flo began racing as a two-year-old, but has not won a largo sum. Jn tho 1938-39 scaaon he failed to win in 17 starts, but showed enough ability to run into minor places in hurdle races at Trcntham. Tutor was stccplcchasing. last season and in 22 starts gained one win and five placings, the win being in a hack and hunters event at Waikato. Since that his form lias been disappointing, as ho was not placed in his next four starts.
