TERRITORIAL PAY. PROTEST VOICED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. A protest against the decision of the Government that the pay of members of the Terri to rial Forces undergoing continuous training should be assessable for income tax has been made by the executive of the Wellington Regimental Association. The secretary has sent the following letter to the Minister of Defence :- “At a meeting of the executive of this association, the following resolution was adopted unanimously: That the executive considers it illogical and unfair that the Minister of Defence should use the power conferred on him by sub-sections 2 and 3, Section 3, of the Land and Income Tax Amendment Act, 1939, to decide that the pay of members of the Territorial Forces undergoing continuous training should be assessable for income tax.”
