LARGER ALLOWANCE SOUGHT. Per Press Association! DUNEDIN, Aug. 14. A meeting of fine Otago Automobile Association lias passed a resolution to place before the iMotor Union a recommendation to make representations to have the regulations relaxed so that members of the Forces on final leave could obtain on application petrol allowance for, their special needs.

The matter originated from the secretary, who said he had been approached by men on leave to obtain petrol for them to visit relatives in the country, but an application to the Oil Fuel Controller had been unsuccessful. The secretary added that troops in England were allowed petrol for 300 miles in addition to t'heir coupons.
