PRACTITIONER SCHEME.
CONFERENCE IVITH DOCTORS. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 13. A. date lias been arranged for a conference between the Government and representatives of the British Medical Association to discuss the Health Department’s proposals for the introduction of the general practitioner sell erne under the Social Security Act. This was announced last night by the Minister of Health (Hon. H. T. Armstrong) when speaking at a . public meeting at Waltham. The question, “When is the Government going to put Part 3 of tho Social Security Act into operation?” was being asked, said the Minister. His answer was: “As soon as it is possible for me to do it. I am on the job now. The time is already' arranged for meeting tho representatives of the medical profession with a view to completing tho whole scheme.”
