CONVENT SCHOOL

FANCY DRESS BALL. The first fancy dress ball held by' the Feilding Convent School took place last evening in the Parish Hall, when there were approximately 150 children in fancy dresses. Rev. Father Broughton expressed his pleasure at the success of the function and paid a tribute to the work of the Sisters and Mesdames L. Jarrett and Michael in arranging the ball at short notice. Mesdames Jarrett and Michael were the recipients of tokens of appreciation from the Sisters and pupils and from the School Committee, the presentations being made by Father Broughton, Misses Betty Thurston and Jean Hazelden. Supper was provided by the ladies under the direction of Miss GChristie (secretary). The proceeds, amounting to £23, are to be devoted to a building and ground improvements fund.
