BALLOT EOR COMMITTEEMEN. (From Our Own Corespondent.) BULLS, Aug. 12. The committee of the Rangitikei Racing Club mot on End ay evening. Present: Messrs R. If. McKelvie (chairman), G. 11. Archer, J. Tricker, T. W. Norris, D. W. Wilson,. E. A. C;ildow, J. E. Walker, J. 11. Russell, B. J. Fnccldington, J. J. Mansell, A. W. Amon and Q. O. Wilson. As a mark of respect all stood in silence on account of the death of a member, Mr A. B. Armstrong, of Wanganui. It was decided that members on active service should bo exempt from payment of subscriptions while away. Votes of thanks were passed to the club’s delegates, Messrs J. R. Stanford and TT. J. D. McMnnawny, for services rendered on the New Zealand Racing Conference, also to Messis G. 11. Wilson and T. P. McGrath for services given gratis in connection with the club’s stock. It was reported that only two nominations had been received for tho two vacancies amongst the vice-presidents, and Messrs F. 0. Bailey and J. E. Walker are therefore elected unopposed. Four nominations have been received for three vacancies on (he committee, and a postal ballot will l>o hold to decide (he issue. Those nominated are Messrs E. A. Caldow, J. -T. Mansell, George A. McDoncll and D. W. Wilson. Arrangements were put m train for tho annual meeting of members. Tho caretaker reported that the course proper was in perfect order. and that on the farm lambing had commenced. The sheen and heifers were in good condition. The balance-sheet for the past year showed that, after spending £743 on imnrovcmeiits and plant, £377 cn labour -and maintenance; and writing off £226 for depreciation and £129 for had debts, the vear’s working had resulted in a net profit of £328. The withdrawal of the one per cent totnlisator duty had reduced the club’s revenue by nearly £3OO. The balance-sheet was approved.
