MONEY FOR PLANES.
FURTHER CONTRIBUTIONS. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 13, 10.35 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 12. A number of further donations to Britain’s war effort are reported. Further donations of £147,000 have been received from the “Speed the Planes Fund” through the South African Gov-ernor-Genera.’s Fund. The Madras Governor’s Fund for the purchase of aircraft amounts to £33.701. The Legislative Council of Grenada (Windward Islands) has granted £15,000 towards Britain’s war effort. The Trinidad and Tobago branch of the British Red Cross has cabled a further £15,000 to London headquarters, raising the colony’s contributions to the Overseas Fund to £29,000. Liberal gifts come from foreign communities in Trinidad and Tobago.
