KOPANE INSTITUTE.
Mrs Hendlo presided at the July meeting of the Kopane Women’s Institute, held at Mrs Boddy’s home. A new member, Mrs W. Odgers, was welcomed. A picture from Dymock, the institute link, was passed round. Members are contributing sixpence at each meeting toward the soldiers’ parcels fund. Mrs Dawbin gave a clear demonstration of a smocked check apron. The competitions resulted. Parsnips (judged by the visitors), senior, Miss Bodd.v 1, Mrs White 2, Mrs Dawbin 3; junior, Miss Russell 1, Miss Dawbin 2 Miss Martin 3; bloom, fse.nior, Miss Boddy 1, Mesdames Boddv. Prentice, Glasgow, Martin and White 2, Mrs Morris 3; junior, Miss Russell 1, Miss Martin 2, Mies Dawbin 3. It was decided to alter next month’s competitions to a child’s nightgown or pyjamas (.senior) and child’s bloomers (junior), which will afterwards be sent to the refugees. The next meeting .s to be held at Mrs Hendle’s home.
