HAMMOND—CONNOP. Lovely gowns of sca-hazo blue rippled chiffon mounted on clover taffeta were worn, by the two bridesmaids and the little ’maid who attended the bride at thei wedding, on August 6, of Eva Muriel, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H. E. Connop, of Hastings, and Howard Ross, only sou of Mr and Mrs E. H. Hammond, of Hamilton. Rev. j W. T. Drake officiated at the ceremony i at St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, J, and Mr C. B. Spinney presided at the organ and played the wedding march and the hymns which were sung by the choir. | Rich silver-threaded cloquc in pure white fashioned the bride’s beautiful gown which was cut on very fitting lines with a divided court train falling from the shoulders. The gracefully flared skirt wa6 shaped on to the bodice in an inverted V-shape and from a diarnond-6haped piece in the front the corsage was softly gathered, while at the back were tiny covered buttons. The long fitting sleeves were cut full with small pleats at the shoulders. Her veil was held in place with a top-knot ; of real flowers and she carried a sheaf j of Madonna lilies with tissue ribbons, j A diamond necklace, belonging to her J mother, was the bride’s only ornament. | The bridesmaids were Miss Ruth Connop, the bride’s sister (chief), and Miss Myrtle Newrick. Their gowns of sea-haze blue chiffon mounted on clover taffeta were attractively fashioned with fully flared skirts and corsages having dainty shirring in front and heart-shaped necklines edged with a I tiny frill. The very full high puffed sleeves were also edged with a frill and at the waist were long sashes of clover chiffon tied in- a soft bow at the back and having long hanging ends. Each, maid carried a bouquet in cyclamen' shades composed of tulips, freesias, heat'll, cyclamen and ferns and wore a matching top-knot. Diane Probert was a sweet little flower-girl in her long frock of the same material as the. older maids, and fashioned on similar lines with the skirt very full from the waist, a frill at the neck and puffed sleeves and long clover sash. She carried a ball of mixed flowers and wore real flowers in her hair.

The bride’s little nephew, Brian Harris, was a page. His suit was of cream satin with long trousers and shirt made with Peter Pan collar and full bishop sleeves gathered into a tight cuff. Mr T. Blummont was the best man and the groomsman was the bride’s brother, Mr R. Connop. Following the ceremony a very happy reception was held at which the guests were welcomed by the parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs Connop wore a model gown of black 6hot velvet with insets of gold lame in the corsage and long wing sleeves lined with gold. A posy of deep petunia flowers was worn at the shoulder and matching flowers trimmed her black hat. She wore a musquash coat and carried a bouquet of sweet peas, tulips and Juno roses in petunia shades. Mrs Hammond chose a black frock with a diamante clasp at the neck, black sealskin coat and black hat. Her bouquet was in shades of rose pink with carnations, sweet peas and tulips. For travelling the bride wore a model ensemble with frock of Romany blue wool charmelaine with finely tucked bodice, sleeves and pockets and a silvery-grey suede flower at the shoulder. The coat was of black boucle cut with loose full back and unpressed pleats in front, the sleeves being composed of Persian lamb. She wore black accessories. The happy couple left for Hamilton to spend the honeymoon.
