FRENCH ORDER CLOSURE. ~ STRATEGIC IMPORT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 12, 11.40 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 11. The Sunday Times says the Vichy Government has ordered Syria to close the frontiers to all combatant subjects of military age, also to refuse exit permits to Britons.
This decision means the breaking of the link between Turkev and Palestine, and the exclusion of Britons from the Taurus Express where the railway enters ' Syria.
